Livermore Adult School

Mission Statement
To provide lifelong educational opportunities and services which address the unique needs of individuals and communities by providing adults with the knowledge and skills necessary to participate effectively as citizens, employees, parents, family members, and consumers of goods, services and leisure.

Fees: Adult Education is funded separately from the public school K-12 program.

Mandated Classes
There is no fee for mandated classes.

Protected Classes
These classes are eligible for state funding. In many cases, however, additional fees must be added to pay the full cost of instruction and to allow for smaller classes.

Community Education Classes
Because these classes receive no state funding, the full cost of instruction must be based on the number of students enrolled.

Other
Classes not having the required minimum enrollment or very low pre enrollment may be canceled prior to the first class meeting. If class enrollment is low, students may elect to pay additional fees or meet for a shorter time.

Enrollment
There is continuous enrollment throughout the semester in most classes. Students need to enroll 24 hours before a class starts in order to ensure that we can offer the class. You need not reside in Livermore to attend.

Public Input
The public is encouraged to review our entire course of study and to give input for the improvement of current courses and the creation of new adult education courses.

Refunds
A refund will be made if the class is canceled on or before the first meeting, or if the student withdraws five days before the date of the first class. A $5.00 processing fee will be assessed for withdrawal. Please select classes carefully; there will be no exceptions to this policy. Please allow two to three weeks for your refund. We will need to have a copy of your canceled check in order to issue a refund.

Equal Opportunity
Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District is committed to provide equal opportunity for all employees and applicants for employment. This policy is in compliance with Title IX.

Title V Standard Non-Discrimination Uniform Complaint Procedures
The Livermore School District has primary responsibility for ensuring that it complies with state and federal laws and regulations. Questions regarding Uniform Complaint procedures may be directed to the Assistant Superintendent
(925)606-3200.
