Independent Self-Study Program/Open Classroom Lab  

 

Entry requirements: Must be within 10 credits of graduation (to graduate this year) and completed the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District math requirement of 20 credits including 10 credits Algebra.

Provide Adult Education with your transcript for evaluation. If minimum requirements are met, you may enroll in our Independent Study Program.  A $50 materials fee and $50 book deposit required.

 

ADULT EDUCATION HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

 Students shall receive diplomas after completing both the prescribed course of study, minimum of 10 completed credits and meeting the proficiency requirements as established by the District and the State of California.

 Prescribed Course Requirements for Adult students shall include the following 170 required units:

20 units required, 10 must be Algebra

Student must satisfy the full requirement before coming to Adult Education

Science

20 units required

10 units of a Physical Science

10 units of a Life Science

(20 units of Agricultural Science = 10 units of Life Science)

Foreign Language or Visual & Performing Arts

10 units required

10 units Foreign Language

or

10 units Visual & Performing Arts

Health

5 units required

Electives

40 units

The balance of the required units will be made up of approved elective courses.

 In addition to successfully completing the prescribed course of study, a student must demonstrate proficiency toward District and State standards. Passage of both the English/Language Arts and Math portions of the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) shall demonstrate proficiency.
